Scoping Your Own Work

Your project manager scopes the project. You scope your tasks. These are different skills, and the second one is yours to own.

Working Iteratively: Drafts, Feedback, and Revision

Iteration is not a sign that your first draft was bad. It is the process. Understanding that changes everything.

Working Across a Team

You are not writing alone. Understanding the humans around you is as important as understanding the content.

About the course

Most curriculum developers come to the work as subject matter experts: former teachers, instructional coaches, content specialists. They know curriculum. What they often don't know is how a large curriculum project actually runs: why timelines slip, what all those roles actually do, how to give feedback without damaging relationships, and how to know whether the draft they just spent two weeks on is done or not. This course fills that gap, as a practical orientation to what it feels like to be an individual contributor on a curriculum team, the rhythms, the ambiguities, the hand-offs, and the moments where knowing the unwritten rules makes all the difference.

Who this course is for:

● Educators working on district or department-wide curriculum projects ● New and early-career curriculum developers working as individual contributors ● Contract curriculum developers working across different organizational structures and processes
