About the Course
For the educator: You learn to design a math task deliberately — targeting a specific kind of thinking, built around real cultural context or genuine inquiry, and documented well enough that a colleague who's never met you can run it correctly. For the school or district funding this: Tasks produced through this course are culturally relevant and cognitively demanding by design, not by accident, and every task carries a framework and audit rubric with it — so a coach or department can evaluate and improve any task, not just the ones this participant personally wrote. That builds task-design capacity across a team, which is a direct return on the professional-development investment.
About Your Instructor
Jaliyla Fraser is the CEO and Founder of Fraser's Mathematics Solutions, where she leads curriculum design, standards alignment, and culturally relevant math and STEAM programming. Her background spans classroom math and physics teaching, a K-12 district Math Supervisor role, math professor, math textbook editor, mathematics advisor, and authorship of a national math guidance document, experience that spans nearly every seat in the curriculum pipeline, from the classroom where materials get used to the review process that decides what gets published.
